Fall Tray DIY

I love a fun DIY and this simple tray is easy to make and perfect for fall! Keep reading to see how to make one yourself!

MATERIALS NEEDED

2-3 Large potatoes

Leaf cookie cutters

Any piece of wood 1” thick or so and approximately 10x16” or desired size.

Leather handles, or any desired hardware.

Dark wood stain

Acrylic paint in white and gold

Use the leaf cutter to get a design in the potatoes. Cut the side of the potato and insert the cookie cutter in. Then trim along the edge and remove excess potato. This will reveal a leaf shape and snow your stamp!

I used a piece of walnut we had left over from a project but a piece of pine would be great too! Stain it and then wipe it off so it blends well into the wood.

Brush white paint onto your potato stamps and stamp away! I did an all over pattern then took a brush to the sides to diffuse it and just left a pattern down the middle. After that I did tiny dots of white and copper. Finished the look by adding leather and gold handles to the sides.

The last thing i’m going to do is put Ava’s handprint somewhere on the tray! It will be a fun way to remember her hand size and will blend in well with the leaves!

A Fun little wooden tray to display pumpkin and maybe even flowers this fall!
