Homemade Apple Pie

Fall is upon us! Here is a delicious and healthy pie good for any special occasion. The crust is made without any added oils. The brazil nuts have natural oils that help the crust be perfectly tasty. I make this pie with gluten free flour but you can certainly use white or whole wheat pastry flour instead. Enjoy!

Homemade Apple Pie

Crust

1.5 cups Bob’s 1:1 Gluten Free baking flour

1.5 Cups gluten free quick cooking oats

2 cups brazil nuts

1 tsp salt

3/4 cup of water

 ~

Directions :

  1. Place oats in food processor and blend until fine

  2. Add nuts, flour, and salt. Blend until it is all as fine as flour.

  3. Place in mixing bowl and slowly add water. Mix and form a ball with your hands, adding water until dough is well mixed and is not crumbly but also not too sticky.

  4. Divide in half. Roll between two pieces of parchment paper to form a 12 inch circle.

  5. Place in pie dish. Trim pastry. If it breaks at any point just push back together with hands and a little water. It does patch well if needed.
