Spring is here and there’s nothing more fun that baby animals and quality family time out in the nice weather! This is a fun activity you can do with your little ones on a beautiful afternoon inside or outside!

Ava and the cousins have been trying to get together once a month and do a lunch date along with a craft and it has been fun to do these activities! Ava has already grown so much since the last time we got together. For spring our cousin Hannah suggested we use their footprints as chicks and bunnies for the craft! Pretty easy to do and a fun way to remember their little feet by. Ahh they are growing up so fast! See below for list of materials and how to do this super simple craft!

MATERIALS NEEDED:

1.Dropcloth or fabric napkin- you don’t need a ton of material just enough to go into an 8” hoop ring, Or size of your choice.

2.Crochet Hoops- desired size, I used 8” but many sides will do. If you want to do more than 1 child per hoop get 8” or bigger. You can spray paint these hoops prior to using them if you’d like.

HOW TO MAKE

1.) Cut a bit square of fabric. Enough to go past the sides of the hoop

2.) Place craft paper or paper bag underneath fabric

3.) Coat foot with desired paint color. Make sure to really coat the toes and heel. This works best with 2 people One to hold the child and foot and the other to paint the foot ( of course if it’s an older child they will not require this assistance) Once foot is coated have one person place heel down first on fabric then try to squish the rest of the foot down quickly ensuring the toes touch as well. It can be tricky if they are squirmy.

4.) For the chicken the foot will be sideways and for the bunny upside down. You can choose to just do the chicken or the bunny but if you want to do both make sure you point the toes in the right direction when you do the second animal. For the bunny ensure there is enough space at the top to draw your bunny ears afterwards.

5.) Once both feet have been pressed use a tiny brush to draw the bunny ears. If the child is old enough they ca do their own!

6.) Use the hard end of the brush to add chicken legs and feet, a beak, bunny whiskers and eyes. Use white lavender, or whatever other colors to add some texture if desired to your chicken and bunny!

7.) My friend had a cute ribbon in shape of a crown so I added that. But you totally don’t have to! F

8.) Finish by placing it inside the hoop, tightening, and trimming off any extra fabric. Tie a ribbon up top!
