7 Canning Recipes Perfect For The Upcoming Holidays

Signs of the upcoming holiday season are popping up all around! Patios adorned with pumpkins, holiday fares, fun parades, twinkling lights, Christmas jingles, gift guides, and holiday recipes in magazines. To name a few!

With Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner, one thing I love about the holiday season is all the heart-warming pies, desserts, fillings, spreads, and treats we get to indulge in! Come January, we’ll regret it, but hey, life is meant to be enjoyed, right?!

Fall is the perfect time to make these delicious treats with all the wonderful fall produce, including apples, pears, oranges, raspberries, cranberries, and more.

Even better is to preserve these recipes with canning so you and your family can enjoy them until Christmas and beyond. They even make for great gifts!

Below is a round-up of seven of my favorite canning recipes, perfect for the upcoming holidays!

I am loving all the fall seasonal fruits!

delicious apple pie filling

There is just something comforting and soothing about enjoying apple pie while cozying up with a book on an autumn afternoon. Even more so when you make it all from scratch with apples from your backyard!

This delicious Ball® Apple Pie Filling recipe is a favorite of mine. It delivers just the right amount of sweetness, fragrant flavors, and creaminess.

EASY, CREAMY APPLE BUTTER SAUCE

Apple butter is made by slowly cooking pureed apples for a long time. Often as long as 12 hours. The sugars caramelize as the puree cooks, giving it its rich, sweet flavor and dark color. There is actually no butter used; the name comes from the smooth butter-like texture!

This easy apple butter recipe is mouthwatering and goes perfectly on toast, bagels, muffins, and cakes. Go ahead; you won’t regret making this!

apple cranberry pie filling

What can be better than apple pie in the fall? Well, dare I say apple cranberry pie?! When these two iconic fall fruits are mixed together, it is like a fall explosion in your mouth!

This Ball® Home Canning apple cranberry pie filling has all the fall flavors you would expect - cloves, nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon. And the sweetness from the apples and the tartness of the cranberries bring it to a perfect balance.

the most delicious cranberry sauce

It’s almost the holidays, and for me, a meal is not complete without a delicious cranberry sauce. I guess I never knew how easy and delicious cranberry sauce can be when made fresh! Now that I’ve canned it, I will never go back.

If you want to make something delicious that you can even gift to friends or family this season, trust me, this cranberry sauce is a winner!

Simple and delicious and made with only 4 ingredients. It’s one to make even if you’ve never canned before!

orange flower & pistachio marmalade

How convenient it is to grab some marmalade from your pantry whenever the craving hits! Or serving it at a brunch with friends—they'll be so impressed!

I love making recipes using in-season ingredients, and oranges and citrus are some of my favorites to use during winter.

This orange flower and pistachio marmalade is sweet and tangy with floral notes and goes so well with toast, muffins, and desserts.

raspberry chocolate jam

One favorite holiday treat I like to enjoy is a luscious raspberry and chocolate jam. The combination of raspberries and chocolate brings all the holiday flavors and reminds me of Christmas evening and cozy moments.

The perfect balance of sweetness and tartness and the lower sugar content allow the flavors of the raspberries and cocoa to shine through.

My family and I love this jam as a topping to bagels, scones, muffins, and cupcakes. It also works fantastic to use as a filling for fun holiday cookies!

salted caramel pear butter

I love a good pear or apple butter because it’s rich and full of flavor. Cooking the fruit over low heat for hours really brings out the flavor, and the spices with brown sugar add the final touch!

This delicious salted caramel pear butter is the perfect treat to eat on a cool morning. It is decadent, full of rich flavor, and perfect for breakfast or any meal in between. It’s also a wonderful recipe to make and gift to someone this holiday.
