Cozy Fall Decorating Ideas

I’m back with another post for the Seasons of Home tour with my friends! A few weeks ago I shared our budget friendly fall decor and an easy DIY fall centerpiece . Today I’m sharing a few ways I try to make our home more cozy for fall. I’m so excited for it to finally be October and all the official fall things begin! Do you have any favorite fall traditions? I’d love to hear!

I normally don’t bring out the pumpkins until October hits. In September I started to bring in natural elements from the outdoors to start making a transition for fall.

WAYS TO MAKE THINGS COZY

Candlelight- even in daytime candlelight makes things cozy and inviting. Lighting even just a few candles can change the whole atmosphere. I make it a daily routine to light some candles. The flicker and glow makes me happy.

Not just the glow but the fall scents add a whole other level of cozy and magic. I LOVE pumpkin scented candles. They just make me want to sit by a cozy fire and enjoy a fancy mocktail

My absolute favorite candles are by Antique Candle Co

Stay tuned for when I share some ways to make the home more magical with candlelight in a. few weeks!

COZY TEXTURES

Cozy pillows, throws, and textures really make a difference. A chunky throw on a ladder or in a basket. Something that is easy to grab and curl up to and read a book.

I also love the character an old basket brings. I don’t love a lot of antique pieces but a few really add warmth and history to a space.

One thing I did in this area was add an recovered antique chair to the space instead of the traditional piano bench. It’s a lot more cozy to sit at and makes this corner of the home much more charming.

Here I’m reading my kids book to Ava! It’s called Percy’s Big Adventure and follows one offer alpacas around the farm on an adventure

Fresh Flowers and Pumpkins

This time of year our Dahlias and Sunflowers are still blooming. Every day I love to cut some fresh blooms and place them around our home. They add such an elegance and beauty to any space. Even traditional mums are beautiful this time of when styled uniquely. Such as in a pumpkin or a beautiful pot.

You can see in the previous images all the pumpkins I added around the home.

I grew some colorful corn this year and got to save it for our decorations. A super fun an inexpensive way to bring a little bit of fall inside.
