Blood Orange Overnight Oats - A Citrus Bliss!

Tired of the same old breakfast option every morning? Then you’ll love this refreshing citrus bliss, friend!

One of my favorite in-season fruits over the winter is blood orange. They are like a subtle, sweet orange, infused with tangy red grapefruit and hints of tart cherries, raspberries, and floral notes. Doesn’t that sound delicious?!

This Blood Orange Overnight Oats combines the wholesome goodness of oats, the nutritional powerhouse of chia seeds, and the goodness of blood oranges which pack a punch of essential vitamins.

It’s indeed not a boring breakfast option and a super healthy one for the new year!

The star of the show is the juicy, ruby-red blood orange—its zesty juice infuses a tantalizing citrus kick.

Pieces of chopped blood orange, crunchy walnuts, and jewel-like pomegranate seeds make this not only yummy but also visually pretty!

And to tie it all together? A drizzle of golden honey, adding a touch of natural sweetness.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup of oats

  • 1 Tbs chia seeds

  • 1/4- 1/2 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened yogurt

  • Juice of 1/2 a blood orange

  • 1/2 of a chopped blood orange

  • Sprinkle walnuts (or whichever nuts you prefer)

  • Sprinkle pomegranate jewels

  • Top with honey

DIRECTIONS:

  • Place ingredients in the order listed.

  • Mix well after adding the yogurt. If you don't like yogurt, add a bit more milk instead.

  • Then, layer the rest of the ingredients

  • Place in the fridge overnight.

  • Mix it all together in the morning, add any extra toppings, and enjoy!

  • You can also warm it and eat it as oatmeal as well.
