Peach themed birthday party

What can I say!? My baby girl and light of my life turned one this past week! Ive heard it over and over again but they really do grow up fast. We celebrated with a peach theme and although on quarantine we made the most of it with our immediate family. Scroll down to see the food, favors, and all things birthday!

THEME

“Sweet as a peach and so much fun Ava Rose is one” I LOVE peaches and I also love the colors they have! So I promptly picked this theme without even thinking about the time of year her birthday is in. Well let me tell you. In Georgia peaches aren’t ready for another month or so. My peach theme quickly veered south for a moment when I realized there would be no fresh peaches at her birthday. Gasp! I then went with a more floral and peach tones party and found a whole 5 fake peaches and that was that. Overall I"‘m obsessed with everything and I hope you love all her birthday things more than I do!

DESIGN

Here is my original inspiration board for her birthday! I say it turned out pretty amazing and so beautiful!

About 6 weeks before I sent out custom invitations which I found on Zazzle.com I loved the peach and soft colors! They went out to our immediate family only ( The rest went out saying we would do another party in the summer once quarantine was lifted) We asked for seed packets instead of gifts for Ava to have and start her own first garden soon!

My design elements included:

  • Hand painted peach tags ( I painted them a couple nights before)

  • Lots of textures including kraft paper, burlap, linen, etc. I also used a lot of my wooden trays, crates, and mixed and matched glassware!

  • White washed ceramic pots

  • Mason jars

  • Lots of natural greenery and florals ( some I bought and some I gathered from around our homestead)

  • Balloon arch

  • Paper flowers

  • Coffee filter garlands.

  • Vintage high chair which I sanded down to the natural wood and just painted the seat and back parts a very pale pink which I then sanded down again.

  • I did a garland of images from her 1 month to her 11 month and strung it over the drink area. So fun seeing her growth progression!

I wanted to have a couple special elements that would blend in with the theme

  1. Some sort of banner with Ava’s name

  2. Some sort of board with details about her at 1

My good friend Kelly who was my bride years ago ( I used to design wedding gowns) Is AMAZING and was able to make these two elements come to life. She hadn't drew the peach and did the lettering herself! OBSESSED! These are two treasured pieces I’ll keep to show Ava when she is older.

AVA’S OUTFIT

Well this was hard! If I could have dressed her up in a million different looks I would have. But I settled for 2. My friend Elizabeth sent me a link to the adorable peach dress which I instantly knew would be perfect. Then I ordered the most beautiful lace romper from Reverie threads for her cake cutting look. I knew I wanted a Mason and Harlow headpiece the moment I saw them, and my mom found the cutes #1 crown to switch into as well! She is usually barefoot so no shoes for her! Her last outfit change was into her bathing suit for some fun in the sun after lunch!

MENU

My thought for the menu was simple! Make food that’s not too hard to make and also incorporate peaches somehow. So here’s what I came up with! Most items are linked to recipe posts I have done! It is all plant based and many of the options gluten-free!

ENTREE’S

Tea Sandwhiches

Garbanzo Chicken Salad

Creamy Kale Salad

Fresh Peach Chips and salsa ( I set this on the tables outside)

Basil Pesto Hummus

Roasted peach flatbread( my new FAVORITE)

Spinach Dip and crackers

Veggies and Ranch ( I’ll post the ranch recipe here soon)

DESSERT

Chocolate Pumpkin muffins ( because I LOVE them all day anytime of year)

My favorite Fruit Salad

Peach Cobbler

Key Lime Pie

DRINKS

Homemade Peach Tea Lemonade ( recipe coming soon)

Water

Peach Fizzy drinks ( which were served outside out of our garden potting bench)

I ordered some personalized dessert plates which were just so cute! We used mason jars to serve the drink out of and paper gold straws. Last minute my mother in law found peach napkins and they really completed the look! My sister-in-law made the peach cobbler and instead of one big dish she made individual servings and I found that to be just so fun and unique! There weren’t that may of us so there was a lot left over but yay more left overs for me!

CAKE

Ok friends! I have a confession to make! I haven’t really given Ava sugar and the thought of giving her cake just didn’t sit well with me. Just a personal decision so I thought long and hard on what I could make! I wanted something she could still smash and I wanted it to look realistic. So friends….I give you TOFU CAKE! Ha! I literally took a clock of tofu an cut it to make a circle, then I did a smaller one and made a second tier! Voila! Tofu Cake. I refrigerated coconut milk so it would thicken, blended it with a little natural food coloring and frosted it onto the tofu. The result? A pretty good looking cake and Ava LOVED it! Call me crazy, but it worked and we got great pictures of her!

FAVORS

We only had our immediate family there but I thought it would be fun to have favors for everyone! So everybody got a tiny tomato plant we grew from seed! I had fun whitewashing the ceramic posts and I added cute peach washi tape around the edge to keep with the peach theme. We also served the drink in the potting bench which was fun!
